DUNE: PART TWO LEADS ONLINE FILM CRITICS SOCIETY 2024 AWARDS NOMINATIONS
More than thirty films recognized with nominations for the year’s best cinematic work, The Brutalist, Conclave and The Substance also receive top noms
(January 17, 2025) — The Online Film Critics Society (OFCS) announces nominees for their top film honors of 2024; winners will be announced on January 27th. Leading with a total of 9 nominations is Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two (9); other films earning multiple nominations include Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist (8), Edward Berger’s Conclave (7) and Coralie Fargeat’s The Substance (7), while Anora, Nickel Boys and Wicked each earn 6 nominations across categories. Comprised of nearly 300 voting members from around the world who represent outlets including Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Slant, Paste Magazine, AARP, Sight & Sound, Screen Anarchy, Collider, The Film Stage and many more, the Online Film Critics Society annually presents traditional awards including Best Picture, Director, Actor and Actress, among others. Founded in 1997, members of the OFCS explore the nature of film from historical, sociological, political, emotional, technical, and other perspectives, appreciating film as a medium for art and a mode of entertainment.
The 2024 Online Film Critics Society awards honor a broad list of films and creators from around the globe, including box office blockbusters and independent gems alike, for a total of more than 30 films nominated across eighteen categories.
With nine total nominations, Dune: Part Two receives recognition in craft (Director, Adapted Screenplay, Editing and more) and Best Picture categories. Notable films earning individual nominations this year include All We Imagine as Light, Dahomey, Daughters, Janet Planet and Sugarcane.
