2013 Films Not Yet In Theaters
A Case of You
Kenji Fujishima @ The House Next Door
The Dyatlov Pass Incident
- Excerpt: Entirely underwhelming, and almost completely devoid of scares; anyone looking for insight into the actual case will be doubly disappointed.
The Machine
Kenji Fujishima @ The House Next Door
The Machine
Scott Nye @ Battleship Pretension
- Excerpt: Because Tony’s actually in control of himself this time – he even finds a way around those pesky panic attacks – the danger is far less palpable. Those battles are spectacular, but not enough to eclipse the spectacular character work – and, by extension, cinema – we’d seen previously.

The Man Who Shook the Hand of Vicente Fernández
- Excerpt: The longevity and appeal of Ernest Borgnine goes a long way to redeeming The Man Who Shook the Hand of Vicente Fernández. The slightly unpolished film’s faults are too large to ignore, but do get overshadowed by Borgnine’s touching final film performance, which may be reason enough to try and track this down for a viewing.
