Screeners and nominations queries

Postby Rob Daniel » Sun Nov 29, 2015 2:45 pm

Hi all,

For those of us living outside the US, suppose it would be too late to try and get online screeners for films such as:

These are highly likely to be noms from me unless the buzz is wrong.

Also, if a film got a general/limited release in the US this year, but was screened at festivals in the US last year, can I still nominate it? Am thinking of films like It Follows.

Also, The Duke of Burgundy screened at US festivals last year and this year, but was released to the public on the internet in the US according to IMdb. Would this still be eligible for nomination?

Thanks all, Rob

Hi, all:

It does seem a bit counter-intuitive sending screeners of films already on general release in the US only to those members based in the US. Spotlight isn't out in the UK till the end of January and, Best Picture candidate or not, I won't even be able to consider it without a screener of some sort.

I'm assuming that it should be fine to include It Follows, so long as it first theater run was this year. Not idea about online releases, though.
