We wanted to let everyone know that we've amended our security procedure for new registrations. The new method will ask one of three rotating questions that will require a teensy bit of research by the registering user. This should deter spambots from gaining access easily without specific human interface. Hopefully, this will curtail the excessive amount of spam the board has seen in the recent month.

Re: Spam Posts
You've got one on here from the Bahamas ("Hi from Carlon Heights"). Maybe it's Gov. Romney spamming us, but I doubt it.

And two more spammers from Pozysomethingorother. Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, wonderful spam.
Re: Spam Posts
I hate the spam. I keep deleting them, but I'm not sure how they are getting past some of the security measures unless they were already registered before the security questions went into place.
Re: Spam Posts
My apologies. The continued spamming that has been occurring is my fault. I had configured the new spam countermeasures and then inconveniently forgot to turn them on. This has now been rectified.

We appreciate it.
Now, if we can just get our users to post to boards we'll be all set.
